Disneyland Paris has announced that it will be hosting a half-marathon weekend event over 23rd – 25th September in 2016.
The event itself is described as ‘inaugural’ suggesting that this will be a recurring event which will continue to run for years to come. Those already keen can sign up at: http://run.disneylandparis.com/ to register their interest and receive a notification for when the registration process formally opens. This could be a while way though, keeping in mind that the event will run over a year and a half after its announcement date.
The event is billed as giving both the young and the young-at-heart an opportunity to run the 13 miles/23 kilometres in the safety and beautiful surroundings of Disneyland Paris. The event route is as yet unconfirmed.
A running event has been speculated to arrive at Disneyland Paris for many years as successful events are held and Disney resorts across the world, with running events being notable popular and frequent in the American resorts. A running event for Cast Members has also previously been run at Disneyland Paris.
UPDATE 11/04/15: Disneyland Paris has confirmed that the event will be run with the support of RunDisney. Signs up are still not available at the time of writing.
