Interview: Plaza Gardens

Its time again! We are on to our fourth DLP fansite interview. This week we spoke to Laike Wade from Plaza Gardens. A Disneyland Paris fansite specialising in High Definition photos and Videos of Disneyland Paris.

How long have you been interested in Disneyland Paris?

Ever since my second trip to Disneyland Paris, back in 2008. My second, as I don’t remember my first too well. 

What started your interest in Disneyland Paris?

The main part was the music. As a music producer, I have a great appreciation for certain aspects in music, and the themed tunes (area loops) around the park are stunning. 

What made you decide to create a website dedicated to Disneyland Paris?

began posting lots of Disneyland Paris content (photos, videos, tweets), on my personal Twitter account, which after a few months took over, to the point where I tweeted nothing other than the magic. 

Was there ever a moment when you didn’t believe that your website would succeed?

Of course. When I begun with my 10 followers, who had followed me over from my personal account, then looked at the other Disneyland Paris fan accounts, seeing their many hundreds of followers, I did question.  

How big of a role do you think social media plays in the success of your website?

In the case of Twitter… 100%. That’s where I started PlazaGardens, and without the support from others, I simply wouldn’t have one. 

What has been your favourite moment since starting your website?

Reading other fans comments on the articles, is definitely one of my favourite parts of plazagardens.com. 

Roughly how many hours a week do you spend researching, writing articles, creating content, Tweeting etc?

It really does vary, to the point that I don’t have an answer to this question.   

What is it like being part of a special group of Disneyland Paris fansites?

It feels like a great privilege, to be able to contact so many fantastic guys and girls and discuss the many joys that come with Disneyland Paris. 

How many times have you managed to visit Disneyland Paris?

5 times, with the next booked for May, 2014. 

What is your favourite attraction at Disneyland Paris and why?

Captain EO, for many reasons. The 4D experience is just magical, and as a massive Michael Jackson fan, it’s the ultimate attraction for me. I’m not sure I can even count the number of times I’ve seen Captain EO. 

What is the best tip you could give us when visiting Disneyland Paris?

Make as many memories as possible. Don’t worry about a thing and just enjoy your trip to the full. One thing about Disneyland Paris that I really love is how you are taken from reality, and for the few days during your trip, you are living the magic.  

What is your favourite time of year at Disneyland Paris and why?

Summer, because nothing beats walking down Main Street, U.S.A., with the sun shining down on the beautiful Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant. 

Do you have any special memorabilia related to Disneyland Paris?

Not special, so to speak, but my favourite item from Disneyland Paris is actually the Hollywood Hotel room key – keyring, from the Tower of Terror gift shop in Walt Disney Studios. 

Do you have any secrets/rare info that you are able to share with us about Disneyland Paris?

If I did have any, I’ve more than likely Tweeted them out as some point, ha. 

Would you ever like to work as a cast member at Disneyland Paris? If so in what position?

I would love to work as a Cast Member either at Disneyland Paris, or for them. Being part of the team that brings Disneyland Paris online is high on my to do list. 

If you could improve/change/add one thing (money no object) at Disneyland Paris what would it be and why?

If I could add one thing, it would to bring Fantillusion back. I have such amazing memories from this wonderful light parade, and although Disney Dreams! Is fantastic, it still feel’s like something is missing.
