Last month we heard rumours that Space Mountain might get a Star wars overlay. This month, new rumours (well, facts) seem to spread light on a lot more Star Wars coming to Disneyland Paris!
Last year Disney resorts across the world had a ‘Season of the Force’ in celebration of Star Wars. Disneyland Paris got an improved Jedi Training Academy, but it didn’t get a full celebration – and perhaps that was the right thing to do, considering the main Star Wars attraction, Star Tours, was imminently to close. But rumours (with exceptionally solid evidence) now suggest that Disneyland Paris will have a Star Wars ‘Season of the Force’ of its own in early 2017.
@ED92live has posted on Twitter images which show that Star Wars projections are being tested on Tower of Terror in the Walt Disney Studios Park and also that filming for promotional material has been taking place in the park – as seen by the ‘Season of the Force’ booklets they have.

It seems highly likely that the Walt Disney Studios Park will get a version of the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular nighttime show from Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. This is a show which involves Star wars music, projections, lasers and fireworks. It’s a bit like Dreams! except it’s exclusively Star Wars. This of course opens up the question of whether both this new show and Disney Dreams! would occur simultaneously, or whether Dreams! might not run during this time, as these nighttime spectaculars are very expensive.
Indeed, would the Season of the Force be across both parks? In other resorts, Season of the Force has spanned multiple parks, for example in Walt Disney World, Space Mountain became Hyperspace Mountain in the Magic Kingdom as well as the nighttime show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That makes it highly possible that last month’s rumours suggesting that Disneyland Paris’ Space Mountain could receive a Star Wars overlay are true.
